DIY Inspiration

One of the best things about the blog world is that it's this huge open forum of idea sharing.  I added two DIY projects to my inspiration folder this morning.  Now, keep in mind that I am not very artistic (I'm so jealous of all of you super artistic folks!)   Aside from reupholstering, usually I'm not a DIY person, and I tend to shy away from those types of projects.  I think this is mostly because I like more of a polished look, and I'm quite sure that anything I come up with would most likely look like a kindergartner during arts and crafts.

These two projects are so polished and they look like something you could walk right into a shop and pick up.

Brittany over at Brittany Makes blog purchased an old headboard with a classic shape for $15, found the perfect linen and velvet trellis fabric and turned it into this beauty.  

A Mongolian lamb pillow + Ikea stool = heaven!  I have been eyeing all of these Mongolian lamp stools around the blogs, and I was so excited when I stumbled upon this tutorial.  Check out the full tutorial here.
